Then we spent the rest of the day on the bus on the Ring of Kerry, which is a drive around the Iveragh Peninsula. Our fabulous guide Ken informed me that my name has Gaelic roots which I didn't know about. Spellings and tradition seems to vary somewhat but 'Sarah' translates as 'Sadhbh', pronounced Sive (Sayv). We passed through a town called Cahirsiveen (also spelled Cahirciveen) which means "Little Sadhbh's stone ringfort". How cool is that! It also has the only Catholic church in Ireland named after a layperson - Daniel O'Connell - because he was born there. Also cool.

Ireland - Day 11
Coming back around to the west coast of Ireland we stayed in what is known as the most popular tourist area - the town of Killarney and County Kerry. There's another national park and we got to pass through some of it on a sunny morning in horse-drawn carts called Jaunting Cars. Martin and Paddy (driver and horse) were lovely.
