Ireland - Day 12

This day was all about the Irish Coffee. The sexist 'angel' on my shoulder says that this was a 'guy' stop. After a brief look at the Dingle Peninsula (Inch Beach really is quite impressive), we visited the Flying Boat Museum at Foynes where the Pan Am Clippers landed in the 1930s & 40s. It was actually quite interesting as they built a replica of these flying boats, among the first to do non-stop commercial trans-Atlantic flights. Way more leg room and every other kind of room than you'll ever see on our current airplanes! It is also the place of the genesis of the Irish Coffee (all that waiting around for planes to land), and so they made some, and we drank some.

It was our final night in Ireland and we enjoyed a medieval-style banquet in Bunratty Castle and guess who  was Lord and Lady of the castle for our meal...

The entertainment was great and these ladies had really lovely voices...

You always hate to leave somewhere when you're having a good time but we were definitely tired and it was time to come home, with lots of ideas of how one might spend more time back in this beautiful country.
